Hey, im wanting to get a new pc case, but is it possible to change pc cases? as in change my old pc case for a new one.

yes its possible.  you would have to buy a new one and then take all of your parts out of your current pc and rebuild it in the new pc

Nice! and i dont need a certain case do i. i can just go into a shop and pretty much buy any pc case right?

it just has to be compatible with the type of motherboard you have as well as the power supply.  most motherboards and power supplies are standard atx but you should check yours before buying the case

Almost ANY case is standard ATX. You should be fine.

Look in your motherboard manual or use PC-analysis software like Everest, CPU-Z, Sisoft Sandra, Belarc Advisor or PC Wizard

That's the case type you need. Almost all cases are ATX, just some exceptions like SFF and Server cases, but you will notice the big difference in size and price when you see those....

open the side of the computer you have now, is the board long and rectangular, or squarish

Just look for a case that'll fit a Baby ATX which is almost all cases. And make sure you get posts/risers when you buy the case.
