World In Conflict looks pretty good and the BETA was very promising, and I myself am replaying Medieval II Total War again in preparation for The Kings expansion pack, so you could look into getting the expansion which comes out some time this month

I concur. Homeworld is an excellent fully 3D RTS game, with a fantastic story. Homeworld 2 still looks excellent, today.
