Lawl at the guy above, 9800's are slightly slower than 8800 GT's.. but still capable of playing alot of todays games well.

on my system i can play Left 4 Dead at all high settings, with even 1 card enabled it plays smoothly and rarely dips below 50fps.

However, beings as newer cards are out i would save your money and get something better imo.. Though it does depend what games you play, if you play Crapsis then it will run rubbish on even todays best cards.

no im not one of those fools who thinks that if it cant play crapsis its crap but i feel the change is long since overdue to a new card (its been 2 years). and am begining to take serious consideration at a new card or crossfiring my current one as my mobo is crossfire ready as is my 3870.

i am glad you dont think like the rest. why not move into the realm of a 4850 or heck pitch in higher for a 4870. i dunno your budget but you should look into stepping up to something a bit higher than a now "midrange" card as a 9800 is.

4870s are running for 225 shipped on the egg

xfx has a 4850 for 165.

you can get a 260 for 245 shipped

i know those are a bit more than the 145 from the original post, but it's kinda a worthy investment if you're not looking into upgrading for another two years.
