Atmosphere, Story telling, Lore, Investigation Quests, Graphics, Sound, Voice acting and free to play with no Pay 2 Win.

Can be played solo or in group (some quests are great solo).

The gameplay is the weaker part of it but totally playable. Has a huge skill wheel with no classes. TBH, it doesn't bother me cause I'm so caught up in the atmosphere sometimes.

Wait if it's free to play then why does it matter if it's on sale?

Free to Play as in no subscription. You still have to buy the game.

I give The Secret World credit for goin' the "monsters" route -- suuch a huge and intriguing lore to explore -- but it has been some time since MMO combat has pulled me in.  Loved me some City of Heroes back in the day though; I could go on and on.

I decided to give it a shot. For $15 if it keeps my attention for at least 15 hours I figure I'm doing pretty good, GW2 kept me interested for well over 300 hours and I paid full price for that. Side note - good lord 40Gb instal? I'm going to be DLing that for a while.

It's an interesting game, not sure whether to call it good or bad though. The atmosphere and feel of the game are top notch and the investigative missions puzzles are really good. It's never been able to keep me attached to it for any length of time though, combat feels really clunky and repetitive (Which is a shame because the skill wheel and synergy idea are superb) and there just feels like there is way to much filler exploiting the combat then we really need to have, a byproduct of being an MMO I suppose. Still I go back to it for a day or two every month. Worth a shot for the price.

I enjoy it more in bursts.  Not as a primary MMO.

Well, if you need someone to partner up with, I have one character that is pretty low level in the beginning area, or I could just it fresh. Add me on steam if you want. Steam id: Elann 2034 or Bluefish2530
