which soundcard are you suggested me to buy? Asus Strix Raid DLX or Asus Essence STX II 7.1

hi i want to buy one new soundcard and i am between Asus Strix Raid DLX and Asus Essence STX II 7.1

i dont know which to buy?

what is the difference between Asus Strix Raid DLX and Asus Essence STX II 7.1 ? and which is the best?

i want the soundcard for games, music and movies

so which soundcard are you suggested me to buy?

I've had the Soundblaster ZxR for a while now and it is great. Haven't had any desire to look for another soundcard since I bought it. I know that Asus Essence STX cards are really good too. Not too sure about the Raid.

Unless your using a decent quality speakers or headphone/headset. A sound card is not going to be an great upgrade over like realtek onboard audio ALC 1150/1220. If your running onboard audio worse than those a sound card will help. You do not have to spend that much on a sound card.

I would suggest something like Sound Blaster Z or ZxR.

But between your two choices Asus Strix Raid DLX would be the choice I would make.

why you would choose the Asus Strix Raid DLX? against Asus Essence STX II 7.1?

DLX is a newer product and support will last longer

do you know if DLX has alot of good reviews ? or it has negatives reviews??

because i have heard that asus sts II 7,1 is audiophine and its only for mysic.

so now i am confuses with these 2 cards??

@yhyyy: Essence STX II has dolby heaphone support and other features beneficial for gaming. It's main draw is that it has a quality headphone amp and DAC built in. If you don't have good headphones and speakers to take advantage of this, you are kinda wasting your money on any of these cards. Onboard audio has come a long way and is actually pretty good. You can also make use of Dolby Atmos for headphones and Windows Sonic for headphones with onboard sound.

They have different DACs , software, and the Strix card comes with a physical volume knob. Amplification wise they are fairly similar. The STX II has swappable amps. Unless you need the RCA connectors get the Strix

If your focus is gaming and you are not connecting high end headphones or speakers, the RAID DLX seems like the better choice. However, you should just stick with your onboard audio as the benefits of these cards will be lost on you until you have quality headphones/speakers.

Just get the RAID DLX , it will suit your needs. Its the better option for you

You can always buy adapters later if needed. So, if you were to buy headphones with a 1/4" jack, you could by a 1/4" -> 3.5mm adapter. Just get the Raid DLX if you are not sticking with your motherboard audio. It will be the most user friendly for you.

i will not stick with my motherboard audio so to buy dlx or asus stx ii 7.1?

i have one more question if i will buy one custom speaker will it be compatible with DLX??
