Nvidia to release 2060 and 1160

according to videocardz rumour has it that nvidia is gonna make a 2060 with ray tracing and an 1160 without ray tracing. these cards should arrive in early 2019.

if true, this should be interesting, why make an 1160, if ray tracing can be turned off in game. will there be an 1180Ti?

I doubt there will be a 1180 Ti because they are trying to force RTX adoption. I certainly wouldn't have bought a RTX 2080 Ti if there was a non RTX version for cheaper.

Probably because the ray tracing capabilities on 2060 won't be able to do much good.

and so the half-gen nonsense has come to PC as well :D

@BassMan: I definitely think a 1180Ti, if they made it would sell more than RTX 2080Ti. knowing nvidia to avoid this they would prolly make it a little slower than the 2080Ti.

@horgen: agree, I have seen an assessment of the 2070 performance in BF5 with the latest patch and it can barely play the game at 1080p with medium ray tracing, so I doubt that a 2060 would get playable framerates at 1080p at low settings, it would have to be a very low RT setting for this card to even work. what would be the price for RTX 2060 with that kind of performance.

Because why spend extra on RTX cores in the 2060 and then not use them, because the GPU is shit for it and won't handle anything over 720p with RT on?

It might make more sense when next generation cards are around. I expect performance to improve a lot with regards to ray tracing.

Honestly, if someone is looking for a cheaper RTX, you might as well fork over $500 RTX 2017 cause you are better off with that then a RTX 2060.

Sadly for me a RTX 2070 in Canada costs around $700 and plus tax it's even more. So I hope that ether the GTX 1160 or RTX 2060 are much cheaper. I really want to have good fps when playing games on 1440p

then why make 2060 at all, becuase if the 2060 will be just as fast non RT as an 1160, if not faster, then why make an 1160 unless the 1160 is the new 1050

@urbangamez: ask nvidia, they are the one who fucked up with the whole lineup and lost half their value. The idiots are now preparing to release 6 different versions of the 2060.
