Howdy all-

Looking for a new TV, was wondering if you could help me out. With the Superbowl coming up (to you Europeans, that's championship handegg game) there are a lot of good deals in the US.

I am looking for:

-Something around 50"
-4K
-HDR would be nice, but not a requirement.
-400-700 dollars after discounts
-Smart TV, built-in WiFi

I don't game on it (sometimes I do with SteamLink, but not a lot) and don't own any consoles, I just watch Netflix/Amazon/HBOgo and Blu-ray movies on it.

Note: if there is a crazy good deal on some OLED (I heard those are supposed to be really amazing) TV and it's like $1500 when it's supposed to be $3000, I could be talked into that :D

Thank you very much!

Was kind of eyeballing these guys:

Samsung 6300 like $450

Here is a 2016 model LG OLED display for $1000 off (1500 discount). Any reason to avoid a 2016 model?

Same LG above almost, only 2017 model $1600

LG 55" 4K LCD $500

i had read about oled screens having color / brightness banding issues. is this something inherent to oled design?

Hands-down, one of the best 4k, budget friendly TVs is the TCL P series. You can get one at Best Buy in the sub-$700 price range. They only make this model in 55 inches, but it has Roku built in (with all the smart V features like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, YouTube etc), along with built in WiFi and HDR (Dolby 10). You literally cannot beat the TCL P Series because it has the best price to performance ratio in the 4K market. It's picture and features are literally comparable to TVs that are double in price.

I have had mine for about 3 months and it is an awesome TV.

@mecha_frieza: you know it's funny because I have never heard of them, but all of a sudden I started seeing them all over. They get good reviews from both critics and customers alike, thanks for the advice!
