HELP cannot connect Xbox one NON elite controller to my laptop using bluetooth

hey guys

so basically i followed every step online on how to connect my controller to my laptop. And i download the windows 10 anniversary update and update my controller as well with the xbox accessories. But every time the bluetooth start to search for a device it doesn't detect my controller

can anyone help me? thanks

Are you completey confident the controller you have supports Bluetooth? I noticed on Xbox's support site, not every controller supports Bluetooth.

Do you have the controller adapter plugged in and installed it driver?

@PredatorRules: does it really need to use an adapter and cant connect it directly with my laptop bluetooth?. If it does then i need to buy it

@Stevo_the_gamer: yes it does. It has the small blutooth button on the top

I think it's a must, unless you can find on the Internet that you doesn't require the adapter? most logical thing you won't find such discussion at all, it's an adapter - it makes the connection between the controller and the system.

From the Microsoft website: "On Bluetooth-supported controllers, the plastic around the Xbox button is part of the face of the controller. On controllers without Bluetooth, the plastic around the Xbox button is part of the top, where the bumpers are."

Older controllers do not have Bluetooth support and do require an adapter.
