Hey guys. I have a gtx 950 sc (single fan) and a SAMSUNG SMB2430H (yes ik, you have never heard of it.) My monitor can run 1080p, it has an LCD display, and its refresh rate is 60 Hertz.

I have been saving up a lot of money and I want to buy the GTX 1080 (FE) and the ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q because I want to be able to smoothly run 2440p, and I do not want to wait for the next gen of graphics cards. My problem is, I don't have enough money to buy them both at once.

Should I buy the 460 dollar GTX 1080, or should I wait on that and buy the $1k monitor first?

GPU without a doubt, the 950 simply can't offer affordable performance at that resolution and using lower resolution looks horrible. What Satan said is true as well, I currently have asus pg278q which is 1440p/144hz 16:9 combined with 1080ti and the jump to 21:9 is a notable increase in pixel count, so any card below 1080ti is stretching it unless you want to sacrifice either visuals or performance

@talongaming211: You already said that you do not want to wait for the next gen of graphic cards, so you have already answered your own question.

@talongaming211: I have that monitor. You're gonna to need a 1080 Ti if you want to run high settings smoothly.

@talongaming211: what are you going to do with 3440x1440 resolution and a 1 fan GTX950? of course the GPU first.

Gpu, no point in watching a pretty slideshow.

Have you thought of buying a 4ktv? Just because you can fit an hdr fald tv and a lesser gaming monitor for the price of that asus monitor!
