Decided to ditch my POS laptop, nobody ever buy an Aorus.
Anyway, wondering if a Fury X is worth buying?

Why would you be looking at a Fury X? It is old, does not perform well compared to the more recent GPUs and has an awkward liquid cooler by default.
Just asking, can get one for the same price as a RX 580/GTX 1060. I am not spending more for a 1070/1080.

Well, if you can get it for a good price, it is better than a 580 and 1060.

Damn, going to have rethink. Won't fit with a rad in the front.
Fury X is really inefficient. I'd get either an Nvidia 10xx or AMD 5xx.
Does seem to be 1060 or 580 so far.
I don't give a shit about efficiency.

One issue you should know that Fury cards with the 4gb HBM can have major framepacing issues if a game allocates the all vram buffer. AMD has to update and modify the vram limit and data fetching with every new game is released that can or wants to allocate 4gb or more with driver update or help develop the game to fix the issue. If you can grab a fury x for under $250 its still a good buy.
