75hz vs 144hz monitor for 1080p GTX 1060 Mobile

I have an msi laptop with a gtx 1060 card, my main focus is not frames but graphics. However Some games usually hover at around 80-100 fps on ultra so it would be nice to be able to use those extra frames

I plan on playing mostly AAA titles which are graphically demanding and I doubt I’ll continue to keep getting 100 fps as time goes by so I find it kind of pointless to get a 144hz monitor when most of my games run at 80-100 fps

The 75hz monitor is $100

The 144hz monitor would be $240

The 144Hz monitor is there to be used if you'll need it, you could lower graphics and enjoy it's smoothness, TBH I didn't even notice any difference between my 60Hz monitor and a 144Hz monitor so if you'll ask me care about the colors less about the refresh rate - get IPS or OLED display rather than going for higher refresh rate or lower ms.

I rather lock at 60fps and play with no drops at all always 60fps (v synch monitor for nvidia gpu or free synch monitor for amd gpu) than playing at 60-100 fps (It makes me sick if fps go up and down a lot all the time).

So with a 1060 gpu you can lock many many games at 60fps thats what I would do

The 75hz monitor is the better option unless you can get a 144hz G-Sync monitor for cheap. You will not be able to use V-Sync effectively on the 144hz as the 1060 can not sustain such frame rates and you will experience screen tearing or it will try to V-Sync at half the refresh rate (72hz). The 75hz monitor will provide the more consistent experience with less weird shit happening unless you have G-Sync.
