True dogs are fun and more intelligent toDogs. A dog will risk his life for his owner while a cat sleeps around and gets pampered all day.

dogs cause they are adorable(only the one that looked like they ran into walls like bulldogs boxers etc)
Cats, they always use the litterbox or go outside, if they can't, they go in the corner, dogs on the other hand, always give out a fresh log in the middle of the room.

Trust me on this one: Cats and dogs form a different type of bond with humans. Dogs see humans as the leader, so, they aim to please. Cats, instead, prolong their childhood until the end and see the owner as a mother figure. Not that one bond is "better" than the other, but therer are differences.
Now, something I've noticed is that the "mother" thing doesn't really happen when the cat is surrounded by other cats. When that's the case, they just kind of see everyone as a buddy or are more or less indifferent. That, of course, doesn't happen with dogs, which is why people tend to believe that cats are always independent and don't really give a crap about people. That is not the case when the cat is alone with one or two human companions. Then they are as warm and loyal (and sometimes even jealous) as any dog.
dogs, they need you and they know it.
if you turn your cat outside right now he would be fine. hell, lets face it, his life would improve without you, and he knows it.

It's this kind of stupidity that contributes to there being so many strays, and so many cats getting run over and abused by crazies.
