Would you watch a movie that didn't have the real actors?

What I mean by this is if we get to a point where the CGI looks so good that you couldn't tell it wasn't a real actor AI, Deepfaces and de-aging are always getting more advanced. This means you could watch a movie where the dead actor is in it or make a old actor look younger we could have.

GhostBusters 3 with the the original cast younger

Back to the Future 4

Big Trouble in Little China 2

A new Batman movie with Heath Ledger as the Joker again

The possibilities would be endless. So what do you think would you watch it? and what movies would you choose if you could do it? or would it be to weird for you.

Check this out it's a new Deepfake technique that doesn't even need any training and it looks better too it's in real time crazy.

Deepfakes are becoming freakishly impressive, not 100% there, but if this is just the tip of the ice-berg then is kinda just seems a matter of time.

In regards to the question, they've already done it.

Even when technology was terrible they done it in the Sopranos.

Watch a WHOLE movie with some dead actor? Na. Be weird.

CGI improved but still looks fake.

Look at Jeff Bridges in Tron Legacy. While it wasn't perfect it still looked good considering it was 2010. Look wise aside, some of the actors out being pushed as THE person do nothing for me acting wise. Having a computer with human input might be fantastic. On a side note, I'd like to see a sequel to The Simpsons Movie.

Deepfakes are well above that now.

That's really damn impressive for 2001 almost 20 years ago.

I never watched The Sopranos until recently and I think I am close to the mother dying or being killed or something. Are you telling me she (the actual actor) was dead IRL?

The worst scene in all of The Sopranos. The sad thing is that it was completely unnecessary. She could have just died without Tony having a last talk with her. I don't remember, but I think this scene cost like 20 million dollars.

Yes, she died in 2000.

Yeah, I'd still watch them. It'd take some time getting used to but it could work.

Similar to what you suggested...a standalone Joker movie with Health Ledger would be pretty kick-ass.

Deepfakes are getting pretty crazy.

There's another one with Tom Cruise of American Psycho that's better, but it's probably moddable so I won't post it.

Funny enough I think he be a perfect role for American Psycho he's always smiling so much you can't trust someone like that.

Basically plays a very similar role in Collateral, and (if we are being honest) it probably is his best role acting wise.

The dude just comes across as straight up manacle.

Yeah, that and Vanilla Sky are the only movies I like with him.

My problem with Cruise is he always plays himself. He's extremely bankable, but not really all that diverse in what he's capable of. The only role I saw of him where he looked to push out of his comfort zone was The 4th of July, and that was decades ago.

I have to wonder how long actors will be fine with these deepfakes. The other TC American Psycho is the threesome scene with the hookers, it's hilarious and (IMO) far better done than the above, but I'm curious when we're going to start seeing threats of legal action against this tech (especially for things such as porn). It's far more convincing than any CGI actor I've ever seen.

BOTFOJ is easily one of the best movies of modern times. Stone and Cruise worked together so well that you could almost feel how disturbing it was during that time.

Yeah, great flick, and it showed that Cruise has some acting chops on him, but he never seems interested in further exploring them after. Cruise has always entertained me and he still does, but The 4th made me genuinely feel something larger than he took part in, but for which he was still responsible for.
