Would you take a pay cut for a more fulfilling job? If so, how much?

It's well established that I hate my job despite the compensation. I would gladly take a cut to do something more fulfilling.

But not more than $50K.

No, but I like my job. There are more interesting careers I could get into, something that might actually positively affect the world but I've gotten used to the compensation.

really depends on the degree of the pay cut and how fulfilling..

what exactly do you do that you dislike it so much?

I already work my dream job and make more than I ever have in my life.

Why would I change it?

I just changed my job as it had a decent wage rise. But it's rather dull in comparison. I don't think I could afford a pay cut :(

I'm ready for my job to start in Sept 1st, so ill let you know. But right now location is the big thing, and I would leave if I found a job that paid around the same in a better city.

Cost of living though might mean you have less discretionary income.

Yup. As long as I still make enough that I'm not struggling. It's a fairly well established fact that stress shortens your lifespan and affects your physical health. So if a job is causing you to lose sleep at night, screw that.

I do quite enjoy my job.. but what I earn depends on how much I work. So would I work less to have a more relaxed schedule? I have thought about it.
