At first, it sounds like a good idea, but I think I would be less productive - too many distractions.

I can to some extent but I choose to work from work. I'm much more efficient there I think.

I do that anyway! But, heck yes - I would love to work from home. I probably could with my current job, but they don't let us.

no interactions with other people thus, nope. I'd rather work at "the work" than home.

I have worked from home before for Verizon. It was really nice. I never let anything distract me from doing my job.

Then get out of the house. It has nothing to do with working at home.

People wouldn't be unproductive as they think they would be - you'd be surprised at how much you work when your life is on the line.

I work from home 1-2 days per week (like today); if I have what I need to do laid out in front of me, I will get a lot done; usually, I can get a full day's work done in 4-5 hours and spend the rest of my time indulging in those distractions you mentioned :)

Currently, I work from home. Well, actually I work away from home, and I don't have an office to go to. But my boss works an hour and a half away from me, I have a company vehicle to do my work, and my work comes to me in the mail. When I finish my work, I send it back in the mail. So, I guess my office is my home, and/or my work vehicle.:)

I DO work from home. I'm working right now in fact. One computer is on for play (Gamespot) and then one is on for work (my job.)

My Father works from home now. He has since April, and is actually more productive. He said when he's in the office too many people distract him because they all talk and want to play cards and such, ha. I wouldn't want to work from home. It's more fun to get out of the house and meet other people.
