Would crime still exist if everybody could read everybodies mind?

Would crime still exist if everybody could read everybodies mind? Say somebody stole a bike, anybody that person sees can tell immediately that he stole that bike. That would be cool to be able to trust everybody.

I think I would be locked away...

I think there would be more crime. People could read someone's mind to figure out their PIN number, or where they keep the extra key to their house, passwords for whatever.

Violence would go up as well. Imagine someone who's already looking for a fight being able to read the minds of those around him. All it would take is one person thinking that he's a loser to prompt a fist fight. "I heard what you thought!"

It would definitely lead to more crime.

I know personally, if I read someones mind and found they did an unspeakable act like rape or murder, I might snap and destroy them....

There wouldnt be a need for courts as everybody already would knows the truth so nobody would be on the streets to do bad things for long.

Not many.

I shudder at the thought of being able to read people's mind. Think of all the dumb people you know. Imagine the inane processes that drive those thoughts... or the whistling hollow sound of pure silence in thought which also proceed anything that streams out of their mouth.

Plus, around every guy it'd probably be the equivalent of being assaulted with a mental barrage of 2 girls and 1 cup, constantly!

Yea but if that were possible, you know scientists and engineers would be working on something that would block the thought process from reaching an outside source. So while there would be ways to read minds, they would eventually find ways to block it I would imagine.

More crime for sure, it would be anarchy.

If people could read my thoughts I would've probably have a million bullet holes riddled in me.

And I would probably have kicked off plenty of head already.

I'd be the most wanted criminal on earth.

It'd would lead to instant chaos as soon as it happened. The only way it wouldn't would be that society has always developed with this power, but then we'd be living in a VERY different world.
