My friends and I get together once a week, pull out some nice scotch and watch absolutely shit movies.

I'm talking real pieces of shit. Hard Ticket to Hawaii, the invisible maniac, chopping mall etc.

Recently I finally watched the whole Star Wars Holiday Special, and that was one of the hardest movies I've ever watched.

For me the two worst movies I've ever watched are Birth and Star Wars Holiday Special.

What about you guys?

I walked out on Battlefield Earth. Travolta is going to scientology hell for taking one of the best SF novels ever written and destroying it as a movie franchise.

I tried watching the Rifftrax version of it--even they couldn't make it watchable.

You consider 'Hard Ticket to Hawaii' to be an example of the worst that film has to offer? Bloody Hell are you and your friends the no fun crowd nobody wants to hang around with? All of Andy Sidaris' films are exactly what he wanted them to be: very absurd and very fun comedy/action films chock full of hot guys and girls blowing things up and getting naked quite frequently.

Bad are films that fail to achieve anything that anybody would consider acceptable...like say 'Manos', Coleman Francis films or, in the modern era, any film by Neil Breen.

It's a shame too because it is a great sci fi novel (maybe even the overall best scf fi i have ever read) and not completely eaten up with scientologist ideology like the mission earth series was.

I liked Mission Earth too but every few pages you groan outloud with the propaganda for scientology.

Although now that i am older i bet if i re-read Mission earth i would probably be way more sympathetic to the message of the oil companies, legal system and media protecting the rich and powerful while destroying independent thought and individual liberty that seemed pretty outlandish 25 years ago

@speedfreak48t5p: peter griffin is 100% right about The Godfather.

Another one I've tried several times to get through, but couldn't, is vertigo.

Well just recently I watched a movie called street dreams on youtube and it was atrocious. It wasn't a funny bad movie either just a -why am I watching this- kind of bad. To be fair though it was pretty much just a pro skateboard tape with an unnecessary overly done plot, kind of similar to a high budget porno.

AI is definitely up there. Yes I know Spielberg did for his friend, but it's still a pretty bad movie.

If you want entertainingly bad I suggest Batman and Robin, or if you've done that already perhaps some really really bad idea films like Titanic The Legend Goes On.

Also Sidekicks

Not gonna argue BvS. I thought it was okay but hey to each their own. But Jack Reacher? I don't think it was a cinema masterpiece but it is a good popcorn muncher. Wonder if you can give some context around this. I mean the worse movie you have EVER watched? Their are some really really bad movies out there. This is worse for you?

Do you hate Tom Cruise? Is it attached to a painful memory? Do you only watch Oscar nominees and were suckered into viewing this?

Zodiac Killer. Not Zodiac with Robert Downey Jr, Jake Gyllenhaal, etc that was pretty good and the movie we meant to watch when we accidentally ordered an awful pay-per-view of movie told from the Killer's perspective. I even found a clip

Rudy the football movie is without a doubt the worst movie ever made.

Trying to push the idea that some hobbit sized kid could play on an elite football team. For one the guy was 26 years old playing with 18 year olds. Not mentioned in the movie btw. The guys father treats him like crap because he doesn't act like a douche.

Horrible movie.

If we're talking about actual bad movies, then the worse one I ever saw was a horror movie called 'Bleed'.

There are certain levels of bad: 1.) There's it's so bad that it's good. 2.) Then there's it's so bad that you can't believe how bad it is.

This movie however achieved a new level, it was so bad that I felt like a horrible human being for watching it.

Difficult to say, no doubt it's a movie so bland I can't even remember anything about it. Probably more than a few like that, I try to be more discriminating now.

But even so, I get caught up in seeing annoying crap like the latest Blair Witch movie sometimes, where half the movie has millenials fighting amongst themselves. Boring.

I can't believe people are thowing around The Godfather and Schindlers List.....no doubt they are trolling. 2 of the best, Godfather is my favorite movie all-time, other than parts of the wedding, every scene in the movie is a classic. I could see people not liking "The Witch" but I personally thought it was one of the better horror movies in recent times.

Yeah if they're not trolling they have shit taste in movies. Godfather is an absolute masterpiece and changed the way storytelling in movies was done.

It's tough to say. Some movies are hilariously bad yet I still enjoyed them - see Vanillia Ice's "Cool As Ice". I enjoyed it, lol.

In terms of expectations? BvS is definitely up there (Suicide Squad gets an honorable mention).

ugh..a movie called rollerball, absolute shit! I fell asleep through half and decided to just go and watch the arnold Schwarzanegger movie next door. Damn, just checking RT, the reviews of this movie are 3% critics and 14% audience...can't get any worse than that.

Either way, its not a bad idea, watching shit movies once a week just to see how awful they are. Im going to try and sit through 2 hours of Titanic II with a bottle of vodka as you say.

There's no way to tell what's the worst movie objectively. I enjoyed the Star Wars Christmas Special. I enjoy 99% of "B-movies" out there. I find them entertaining.

BUT, the only movie that comes to mind constantly when I think "boring" and "annoying" is Fight Club. At least with "bad" movies, there's usually something entertaining about them. Fight Club is exhausting; having Ed Norton whisper pretentious garbage in your ear for 2 hours while boasting extremely poorly thought out anti-corporate themes.

It's like the movie was hand-crafted for angsty, rebellious teenagers who think Marylin Manson is edgy and deep. It's not just boring or annoying, it's offensive.
