SP1 cause it to freeze left and right like lockup or freeze for a few sec then blue screen kernel date inpage error come up and cause chip sets to overheat and "windows failed to start"
so if didn't install SP1 do not install it if do install you asking for problems

SP1 has been out for AGES. Just about everyone running W7 has it. I recommend looking into other probelms on your PC because there's definitely something wrong outside of SP1.

So let me guess, you didn't troubleshoot anything else and decided to blame it all on the SP?

You should learn how to re-install an OS if you're having so much trouble. SP1 doesn't have too many problems, meaning there's a good chance it's your error, not windows'

I remember reading about this problem earlier in the year. Try this hotfix: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2575077

Think it had something to do with excessive or poorly coordinated pagefilie requests.
