Not at all. I think that sounds horrible, honestly.
The technology they're describing where people could deploy robots and control them remotely to do dangerous jobs sounds interesting, but that kind of tech would not be a replacement for traveling or interacting with others.
In 2020 this will not happen. Nothing like this would happen in a year, it would take time. And those robots would be far too expensive to create, so not just anyone would be able to make use of them early on.
I cringe every time I picture a world where less and less people can go places and do things in public. I already don't get to take vacations like most people seem to, and I would hate it if I were basically stuck in my tiny apartment all of the time.
It would take some pretty awful societies and global catastrophes to make the desire for something like this skyrocket. I hope it never does.
