Why does everyone hate Ryan Seacrest so much?

I know this may sound stupid, but I don't get why people hate Ryan Seacrest so much. I've been watching American Idol since season 5 and he seems like a really nice guy to all of the contestants on the show. I really don't see what there is to hate about him, he seems pretty amiable to me. That is, unless he is the way that he's portrayed in Knocked Up. Then I'd totally understand.

What do you guys think? Why does everyone hate the host of American Idol as much as they do, and why do you think that is?

He doesnt' have any talent. He's just a tv host that doesn't bring anything special to the mix, and a mediocre radio personality. Yet, he has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Go figure.

EDIT: I don't hate the guy; I just think he's underserving of the noteriety he has.

I don't have a problem with the guy.

I caught him in bed with my mom once. We haven't spoken since.
