Why does every single T.V. commercial in America

Make a lame attempt to be funny? Either that or it has to have some stupid gimmick. It gets to the point where I can't watch T.V., because I am affraid of the moronic commercials!

Yeah I don't have cable or anything like that anymore because of the commercials, and TV is just boring most of the time

American loves comedy. The top 3 subscriber on YT are comedians. That is why sit-com are so popular.

I only watch shows after I record them on my DVR, so no commercials for me.

You should watch more feminine hygiene product commercials. Nothing funny about them.

Comedy is the best genre to quickly grab attention.(in contrast to a drama which takes time to build)

Its why youtube comedy/idiot clips work so well, as they only hold your attention for <10min.

Advertisers realize this, so try to add comedy to all there ads to make them more memorable to the viewer.(remember ads only have 20-60 sec to get your attention)

A more memorable ad is a more successful one.

I admit most are idiots as well, but I also am confident enough in my intelligence to admit I do find them funny. You're never too smart or high-brow to enjoy something simply because it is stupid if it is genuinely funny.

I dont like how they have those really fast disclaimers and tiny writing to cover their asses from being sued.

Also I watch TV on tivo so I dont get exposed to too many ads.

Probably in an effort to be memorable. Would you rather watch something funny or something incredibly boring? They probably want to avoid you changing the channel.
