Uh...I've not been hanging around here much, but have standards gone WAY down beyond what they were even 8 months ago?
So apparently someone with 6 freaking posts makes a thread that isn't even starting an actual discussion. All it is is "please do this survey". Which basically amounts to, "hey guys, no discussion here. But help me do my homework, please." Isn't that basically just advertising? The guy isn't contributing to discussion, he's just saying, "help me out guys, click on my link."
In the "old" days this thread would have gotten locked quick as hell.
But then on top of that, the link directs to a freaking virus, and somehow this thread is still active? More to the point, the thread actually got removed due to linking to a virus, and yet this thread is still somehow deemed worthwhile enough to remain here?
Question: if the ONLY thing the original commenter was doing was asking to click on the link and reply to the survey, and if the link was removed due to containing a virus, why exactly has this thread not been locked? I'm just curious.
