Why do people think video games take skill?

I was on wow a few days ago and i saw in trade chat, someone was saying that you have to be skilled at wow in order to be good at arena. I dont think video games take a shred of skill, its just pressing buttons. Are these people really so blind that they see pressing buttons requires skill? I cant understand this halp me out OT!

Yeah, because games don't use reaction times, knowledge of game elements, timing, mathematical skills, basic engineering, etc, etc...

It actually does. Finding a effecient ways to get the best overrall xp in things or pking a dude using certain tectniques does require skill at some degree.

Timing, reflexes, strategy, etc... I'd say gaming uses a range of skills. Perhaps not physical fitness, but there are lots of non-physically demanding skills.cjek

You get better at a game as you play it, that means your skill is increasing.
