He was one of the worlds most influential hip hop/rap artists.

And he created some passionate songs about his struggles in life.

not because he died but because his lyrics held much more meaning to people than most rap artist did. I'd agree that Eminem is a better lyricist, but Pac's lyrics were more poetic & relatable

Yup, as soon as a famous person dies they're hailed as some sort of god. Princess Diana and John Lennon are good examples of this.

Generally. This is common with famous people who die in their prime. They are hailed as kings. I don't see what was so revolutionary about 2pac.

Tupac is definitely top 5 if not number 1. It all comes to preference, but his lyrical ability by far surpasses 99.9% of rappers dead or alive today. I'd include Eminem, Nas, Rakim, Big Pun and a few others that could fight for that last spot in the top 5 as well lol.

I like some of Lil Wayne's stuff, but he should never be anywhere near a "Top 5 rappers of all-time" list.

(By the way, my top 5 would be something like: Nas, Black Thought, Guru, Q-Tip, Ghostface)

Listen to: Ceilings mixtape, Doctor Carter and Da Drought 3

Yeah I think lil wayne is good, but I would never include him in the top 5 or top 10. Maybe top 20-25 though. My personal top 5 is Nas, Tupac, Eminem, Big Pun, Lil Kim(She's the baddest female rapper alive) Don't hate lmao :P

Because he was really quite amazing. Even his gangsta rap songs. Take note that his formulaic violent and sexual songs weren't that way when he was around. He was popular when MC Mixalot and Vanilla Ice were popular.

As much as I dislike hip-hop, I think Tupac's meaningful songs are the only ones I can appreciate.

I mean, come on, this song is beautiful.

Because every time he rapped you felt the love of his music and you know that he meant every thing he said. Pac was a phenomenal rapped the and because he died we can no longer hear his raps or hear him talk about anything new. All I know is that when 2pac talked people listened and gained something from what he said.

Well it would make sense since painters aren't commercialized like musicians are.

its close one. i just put 2pac over em because his new stuff im not really into, his older stuff is great.

and dude, i bet ppl hailed John Lennon as a god before he died. a better example is Michael Jackson. ppl called him a pedophile before a lot but once he died ppl started to cry for him.
