Why are black people seen as unattractive?

In previous threads most of you guys said that you find black women unattractive.

So I wonder, why is whiteness always the symbol for beauty and purity? In many parts of the world whiteness is highly admired like in Brazil or even in Sudan. In Brazil for example the 'whiter' you look the better off economically and politically. The black Muslims in Darfur who are killing the black Christians also seem to hate the fact that they have black in them.

What is it about blacks that makes them unattractive? Is it their big noses, their sleepy eyes (sleepy eyes are due to the eyelids covering the upper part of the eye so as to make the eyes appear slightly close), their big lips and tightly coiled "kinky" hair? It's true that most blacks have these features but there are many exceptions. Many blacks don't have these features while many whites do.

White is a color of purity. Not that white people are pure, but that's why white is looked on as pure though.3eyedrazorback

I think a lot of it has to do with the cultural divide between the two ethnicities. I mean I personally don't find many african-american women attractive. But then again, that largely has to do with the fact that I cannot relate with a lot of them. There have been a few that were relateable, and I found them very attractive. Flip of the coin, there are a lot of white women that I find very unnattractive because of their culture. There was this one girl back in highschool that I thought was attractive before she started speaking and I found out she was trailer trash. It has a lot to do with culture.Vandalvideo

That sums it up for me. Skin color never really matters to me so long as I can actually relate to the girl. Unfortunately, I just haven't been able to relate with too many black girls over my time, they're a rarity up here as it is.

Will I sound racist if I say that many black people do not view white people as unattractive? Now relax; finding a person ugly and not being attracted to one isn't the same thing.

well my girlfriend is black and i find her pretty attractive

if the girl is hot shes hot then again most Brazilians like myself that i know

have no problem dating a girl with a darker skin complexion

Uhhh...usually people are attracted more to their own race. It's natural. And most people here are white, so....

It's the same with black people. Their more inclined to be attracted to other people. Same goes for any race.

Tanning in the U.S. doesn't show you have money....not at all.

I find all women of all races attractive. If she's hot, then I'll go running after her :)

There's alot of beautiful girls out there of different races. Sticking to one would feel boring and annoying.

I don't see myself as a racist, but White women are way more for me, if they are not like latinos, they are hot too. Pure black is not so hot for me

You can't generalize all black women. Many black women have much better personalities than white women.

Some of that may be cultural. I assume that the majority of posters on GS are not African or African american. If you polled a predominately african audience, you may get a different perspective on what is considered beautiful.sonicare

The word "black" itself is associated with many bad things in the English language therefore I don't think calling people "black" is even appropriate. Honestly, I oppose calling people "black". I think terms like "ebony", "black skinned", "dark skinned" or "of sub-Saharan African origin/descent/ancestry", "tropically adapted African" or even "Congoid" are more appropriate for people than the word "black".
