I picked Ronan mostly from the comics, hell I had the first issue of FF that he appeared in, I remember the Kree and Skrulls were always fighting, Ronan at the forefront.......but Yondu seems to be an interesting character, and Thanos is as well.
Star-lord (Chris Pratt) was great in the movie, would like to read up more on the character.
As soon as he came on screen I knew I wanted to see GotG 2.
And knew that Nova would finally be making an entrance. Which I'm hearing rumours about it being Nathan Fillion... and I will be elated if that is true.
Obviously Thanos. He is my all-time favorite Marvel character. I can't wait to see more of him in future movies.
Haven't watched the movie. Whoever is a cute bear gets my vote. :p
Go see it while its still around, you probably mean Rocket Racoon
Yeah I should. I thought Rocket Raccoon is like Yoda lol.
Nah, too much anger in Rocket, but yeah go see the movie.

Nova would be great to see again (I still have Nova first issue stacked away with my Infinity Gauntlet issues), and agreed, Nathan Fillion would be great!
As for Thanos, it was between him and Ronan for me, both have extensive back stories, and I don't know the GotG back stories as well, though I remember seeing Yondu on the cover of the original Guardians series.
Surprised to see Star-Lord being shut out, thought he had a lot of personality too.
His dialog mostly seemed to be about making decisions than raw personality.
I always liked Rocket, but Gamora seemed to have a lot more personality than i have seen before. Which was nice
It's hard to have a favorite, everybody did an excellent job and the roles were all great, even for minor roles.

In some ways, to me at least, it feels cheap to automatically pick the lead, but he did indeed have a lot of personality and really nailed the role.

Yes, apparently she has quite a history with Thanos as well, she was augmented significantly to battle some being named Magus. She is the very last of her race, and has a powerful martial arts background.
I wonder if we will see beings like Nova, Adam Warlock, and the Skrulls in a future movie. With a big setback to the Kree in the movie (I hope that isn't a spoiler), I wonder if the Skrulls will take advantage.

it sucks that we won't see Galactus interact with them, because it's a Fantastic 4 villain

Was Fantastic 4 movie made by Marvel? If not, thats a shame, no Silver Surfer and Galactus. Then there's The Watcher lol. I wonder how The Stranger fits in also.

Fantastic 4 is a Fox owned property atm
Starlord was the only even mildly interesting one. I wish they would have gone into Rocket's origin story even thru vague flashbacks.
Gamora just read like "the bad ass chick". Drax's acting was bordering on bad during certain scenes and for someone called "The Destroyer" he certainly got his ass whooped alot. Groot was basically one giant Deus Ex Machina not once but a few times. Yondu was a space hillbilly, though I liked the arrow/poker thing.
I enjoyed the movie though.

I'm sure the next movie will go into more detail about at least one of the groups past.....probably Star-Lord. But each of the characters has quite an extensive background.
No doubt there will be more Thanos as they inch toward the Infinity Gauntlet story.
I voted Starlord, while I think Rocket and Groot were amazing; Starlord had the best lines in the movie. I'm Starlord man :S
Star-Lord making a comeback
_________
Star-Lord: Ooh child things are gonna get easier. Ooh child things'll get brighter. Then bring it down hard! Someday...
Ronan: What are you doing?
Star-Lord: Dance-off bro, me and you.
[holds out his hand for Gamora]
Star-Lord: Gamora
[she shakes her head]
Star-Lord: Subtle, taking it back.
Ronan: What are you doing?
Star-Lord: I'm distracting you, you big turd blossom!
The characters didn't had much of a personality...I'm gonna go with Star lord because I'm a big space racist...I simply can't get along with aliens who turn out to be humans coated in paint like Gamora and Drax...plus Drax was nothing but deadweight, seriously, he didnt do anything. I was expecting him to be a total badass and to have an epic, balanced confrontation against a speciifc enemy but all we saw was him getting his ass whopped.
Then there's Yondu...I liked his personality and his character, but I found the arrow thing to be stupid. I simply cant stand scenes where a character is in a completely vulnerable position while he kills everyone and none of his enemies tries to retaliate. Everyone just stared while the arrow was killing people and the whole flight took like 15 seconds, none of the goons even tried to take a shot at him.
Wow. Such a trick question. I don't think any particular character grew on me. It's just a bunch of them coming together that makes the whole thing awesome IMO
I'm hoping the next movie will flesh out their back stories a bit, they all have quite a bit to take from the comics. They will probably start with Star-Lord.
