I'm not.. I think it would be a huge waste of time for me.. I'm too introverted to be talking to a partner all the time.. A girl asking me where I'm going out to all the time for the rest of my life.. :? sounds annoying.. I think sticking to one person is boring, and it kind of feel like it would block your goals.. Well that's how I feel about it for me..I know it's good for others.. but anyways, If I somehow liked a girl enough, I would just live with her.. So if she ended up being shit I could just kick her out or leave depending on the situation... So who has no desire for marriage?

And what if she was awesome and wanted to get married? Would you drop her like that?

Looking at what I want to do in life, getting married or being in a long term relationship isn't a desire of mine.  However, if the right girl came along I wouldn't shoo her away.

But I would like to later down the road.

I don't see the point in wasting a lot of money for some stupid ceremony, if I like a girl enough i'll just live with her.

I am with you buddy. No matter what others say it sucks and they are to far in and to much of a **** to get out. I found out living with a girl for over a year that i can't stand them for anything other then sex. Nag nag nag. one day is great the next is a drama fest. your on your way home from work and hoping there gone out, so you can do something without being bicthed at. But everyone is brainwashed to find someone and marry them. even tho it most likely will end in tears and pain then you got to share the kids. See it happen so often it is almost funny and sad at the same time

I will settle down and have kids eventually. I'm not to sure I'm looking forward to it but I don't want to be old with cats wishing I got married and had kids.

I'll consider it, but then I would have to marry anywase. I've got a pretty odd personality, so I imagine I'd get divorsed pretty quickly. My past relationships haven't laste too long.

You would be surprised how many other odd people there are out there. It's very possible there is someone of the opposite sex out there you will get along with smashingly and not just in the bed room. Personally I expect my marriage to be more about practical things we can offer each other than the mythical soul mates that apparently exist for some people. Still you never know.

My friend Eric married a five year old, and he's a moron so I think anyone can find someone if they look hard enough.

I'm sure there is, when it happens it'll happen I guess. I do love bed partners, but I guess that'll eventually settle down as I get older.

I don't have any plans for marriage unless I truly find a perfect partner. Even then I would have to be financially stable as well considering kids might follow.

I do. I just don't like the idea of answering to someone, and I don't want kids. So really there is no point, long term girlfriends only.

I won't say never but after seeing several of my friends and family go through divorces, and some were pretty bad, it's definitely not in the cards at the moment.  Maybe when I'm older and find some one I really want to spend the rest of my life with.

Marriage is designed to protect the woman in the relationship. In the past, women didn't work so they needed to be protected if the man who married her decided to leave.

I've come close to marriage several times but things just didn't pan out because I don't want to give up my freedom. Now I'm in an open relationship and it works great for us both. If one day we see things differently we can simply go our separate ways without litigation.

It's something I'm open to, but not eagerly awaiting or dreaming about. I'd be just as happy living with a girl for years and years without the title of being married, but I wouldn't throw away "the one" if she wanted to get married because I have some rigid rule against it. the only stipulation I really have about marriage is I don't want to get married before I am absolutely certain I am ready and can support a family (even if it is just the two of us). So many of my friends and their siblings are getting married in college or right out of college, and that's crazy to me.

I concur. My dad wants to get me married to someone right after I graduate, which will be in about two years (when I'm 21). >_> Talk about rushing.

21? My god. And I thought 24-25 was early. I just can't understand the want to rush into something like marriage. I have no idea where my life will take me in the next ten or even five years (and I'd imagine most people are the same), so why settle down so early?
