Who here likes movie soundtracks, and if you do who is your favorite artist? My favorite artists are John Williams and Michael Nyman.

I'm not really into movie soundtracks. But game soundtracks such as the one from Halo 2 are awesome.

Mission Impossible 2 had a great soundtrack. Too bad Dawn of the Dead (remake) didnt have one, the movie had some good songs.

Wait, are you talking about the soundtrack or the score? Because if you're talking strictly soundtrack then it depends completely on what songs and artists are on it.

More along the lines of the musical score. I only ask because I get the feealing that there is not that large of a demographic when it comes to this genre of music.

Clint Mansell did an excellent job on the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack, I advise you find it, and listen.

What are you talking about exactly. Movie Soundtracks or Movie Scores?

Williams & Nyman are composers...

I would probably say movie scores, but most often movie soundtracks are scores.

Movie Soundtracks are compiled lists of what songs have been used in the film, ie. The Matrix Soundtrack has Clubbed to Death by Rob Dougan, Dragula by Rob Zombie, Wake up by Rage Against the Machine. Where as The Matrix Score had all the pieces made for the movie, everything Don Davis composed.

Star Wars doesn't have a soundtrack as it doesn't use any other material other than whats created for it by Williams.

I'm not a big fan of soundtracks and I own very few. I'm not very fond of music compilations and movie scores usually don't rate very high with me. I do have some scores from the likes of Hans Zimmer, James Horner and Ryuichi Sakamoto but I can't take anything by John Williams and I try to avoid him at all costs.

I like some. I've always been trying to find that last song in the Fugitive - "It's over"

Garden State.sthadji

Nice choice, I also like the Natural Born Killers soundtrack for the use of contemporary music.
