I started my very first blog yesterday. After I made it, I realized that there are so many blogs out there. But the majority of them have only three posts and that's it.
Have you every tried starting a blog? If so, how'd it go?

Yeah, I used it for Soapbox entries recently but now I guess I'm just using it to link to my writing on the site I got picked up by.
...Heh, maybe I should get around to another Soapbox piece. >.>
I have one on Tumblr of random things that interest me. I started not too long ago and it's going okay I'd say. I've gotten some feedback/followers. I try to add new things when I can, but I've been a tad bit busy as of late (bad time management).
I deleted a lot of my blogs because they contained too much personal information about myself and I changed my mind on that approuch I was going to have with my profile. Now I keep it at least somewhat related to games, but I might throw in the odd Off-Topic.
I might write someting for the sake of writing something if there are no good threads on OT and I am bored out my brains
Yes I have many. But if you want to make money, it's much more difficult to do it when talking about your life. It's easier to make money talking about somethinng that can be marketed, so ads next to your text will be relevant and people will be more likely to click on the ads or advertisers will be more likely to pay you a monthly rate to advertise on your site. Like if your blog is about guitars, it's pretty easy to find advertisers to make money off of. Talking about all different topics like your everyday routine is much harder to get relevant ads for.

I couldn't say when I started a blog it was with the idea of making money. I just write for the joy of it, plus it gives the few people who I am with contact with from other Gamespot profiles a bit of an idea of what's going on in my head at the moment. I'm not a good blog example mind since I don't do it often and deleted most my stuff, but anyway I wouldn't be in it for the money.
