Okay, well, I would really like to learn a song to play on a guitar, but I just realized I have no idea where to start. So, what should I do to learn a song?

Watch a video on Youtube about how to read a tab, then look up a Greenday or Nirvana song on Ultimate-guitar.com and check out the tab.

First learn the name of the strings, then start learning chords. After that try playing scales.

"Rotten Apple" by Alice in Chains... That song has the most amazing guitar I've ever heard, really.

A lot of the riffs are really complex and you need a bunch of effects to pull them off... But, the main guitar riff that you first hear in the song would really be a good one to learn.

Try to learn some basic stuff. Like the riffs to smokke on the water and iron man.. But if youre looking to start soloing, try the ending of eruption by van halen. Of course im talking about the fingertapping part at the end. In my oppinion its the coolest sounding and easiest part of the whole song. But yeah, like the other guys/gals said. Look up tabs and use youtube. Maybe try and see if their is anybody in your area that gives lessons.

Oh I forgot to say, the best thing to do is to get a real life teacher.
