For me it's a close tie between a Big Mac from MD and a Whopper from BK.

There was a thing a while back people were doing where you'd stack a Whopper on top of a Big Mac. I did try it. It's a pretty good combo.

There's a local chain called Teddy's Bigger Burgers that has food that put any of the national chains I had to shame.

As in anywhere will do, given there is about dozen chip shops within a 3-4 mile radios.

Veggie slider from White Castle. Considering there are only two chains that actually serve veggie burgers that's not saying much, but they still do a decent job.

I guess I would go with the Super Star from Carl's Jr. I'm more of a sandwich or Mexican food kind of guy.

Have a very hard time understanding how people can still eat McDonalds/Burger King burgers with places like Shake Shack and 5 Guys popping up.

Anyway, 5 Guys for me with Shake Shack right behind it haha

I once had a burger at Fudruckers that was very good too. That was a long time ago but I never forgot it.

@theone86: damn I’m jealous! I’ve always wanted to try real Whitecastle sliders. Even the crappy frozen store bought ones are delicious. Can’t imagine how good the real thing is.

@vaidream45: No white castle near you? Eh, they're not that hard to replicate. It's a thinly pressed patty with a lot of fat, slider size, throw on a slice of cheese if you want, and put some grilled onions and a pickle slice on top. It's the pickle and onions that really give it a unique taste, not the meat or seasoning.

It was a massive flop. I think they discontinued the Arch back in 2000.

I absolutely love the Flamethrower Burger from Dairy Queen. It's always really fresh when I get it. Great charbroiled taste, bacon, cheese and Flamethrower sauce which is sometimes called Tobasco Mayo.

Which was a shame. I used to eat it all the time when I worked there (of course, free food made everything taste better). The sauce and peppered bacon really made it for me. The problem back then was people were too set in their ways with staples such as Big Macs to really give new burger inventions a try. Took some major global marketing efforts to finally get people to know that McDonalds can do more than just cheeseburgers and Big Macs.

I don't get how anybody can like McDs? Their burgers are dry shitty patties with the flavor of seasoned cardboard.

Mine would have to be Five Guys hands down, followed by Wendys.

Hardly ever. In fact, it looks pretty much a mess, but it still tastes great!

Top three for me;

1. Angus burger from Salem's (local chain)

2. Five Guys. I have hard time putting them at number 2, because it's not really their burger if I am the one that tells them what to put on it and how to prepare, right?

3. McDonald's Big Mac/ Quarter pounder is pretty consistently good. They've certainly made effort to increase their burger meat quality recently.
