I've been reading a lot more lately, and I wanted to get into a good sci-fi or fantasy series. Something along the lines of the Wheel of Time series, A Song of Ice and Fire (I'm about to start this one tonight), or something like Star Wars or Isaac Asimov's Foundation. It would also be a plus if the series is still ongoing, I like waiting in anticipation for a book :P

The Chronicles of Narnia, The Space Trilogy (Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra, That Hideous Strength), The Name of the Wind (still going), Inkheart, The Books of History Chronicles, The Pendragon Adventure, Dune (I only like the first book, though), and Dragon Prince.

Very good list, I really need to check some of them out. I've had Dune for the past several months, but I haven't gotten around to reading it :P

I don't read often but I've always enjoyed Terry Brooks work. It's fantasy.

It takes a while to get into, but it's really good. The sequel is absolutely terrible, though.

No. Sci-fi has an aura of realism about it, like it could actually happen. Fantasy generally doesn't.

I actually read some of the first book, but I stopped when it started to get too high-fantasy and started concerning magic. I was looking for more of a stealth and assassin-based book.. Maybe I should try it again some time, though

Well technically yeah, but I would say Lord of the Rings and Star Wars are two totally different things.. So sci-fi was made to be a sub-genre to be more precise :P

You really should, it's a great trilogy.

Real sci fi is very different as it occurs within the boundaries of science and tends to be based of future science advancements ie a moon base. Something like Star Wars is strict futuristic fantasy as it makes no scientific sense.

Be More Chill and Inkheart are pretty good. The Inkheart movie was such a bad depiction of the book though.

I liked it up until the end. The guy who played Dustfinger was simply AWESOME.
