I seem to post a lot about food in OT, but here we go again...

Probably the homemade Chicken Pot Pie we made last week sometime I believe it was. Before then it was a Chicken Fried Steak with Country Gravy, Green Beans & Fries.

@speeny: nothing wrong with food posts!

As for me, I made last night: some sous vide miso salmon (wild salmon caught that very morning), green beans sauted with bread crumbs and lemon zest, and some pressed potatoes (par-boil some small potatoes, put them on a sheetpan, then smash them a bit so they break open. Then you drizzle some olive oil, garlic, maybe some rosemary and cook it at high heat til crispy).

Was a nice dinner. Pretty healthy, too!

Seems lovely. Will have to give the green beans with breadcrumbs a go.

Ate last Friday at a good Mexican restaurant. Started off with queso blanco, fresh jalapeno slices and chips. Then had a spicy habanero chicken chimichanga with the works (pico de gallo, guacamole, lettuce and sour cream), rice and beans on the side.

For dessert had a sopapilla with ice cream. Was heaven.

This place serves the biggest portions, it's a hell of a lot of food. I put it down, though. Next day was a little rough.

Spaghetti with shrimps and tomato sauce. It's a meal my grandmother often makes when she invites me over for lunch. It's usually enough that I have some leftover for dinner as well.

Kebab from the local. Not exactly high class health food, but it tastes great.

Came back to my home country and had a great Mirandesa steak as my first meal, absolutely delicious meat. I'm mostly vegetarian now, so when I eat meat it's a joy.

Been experimenting with more homemade recipes. This one was a kalbi recipe I found only that's a soy, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and green onion marinade. I also added some mirin for additional flavor. Most of the time I try to replicate a dish I have at a good restaurant I'm underwhelmed by the result, but these came out about as good as I could have expected.

My wife and I went to a local pizza place called Noble Romans which has been around for a long time, but closed for a few years, and then reopened in a new location. The pizza was really damn good, I had a Hawaiian pizza with a bbq sauce drizzled on that played well with pineapple (yes, I know it's divisive) and she had a peppers, olives, and sausage. Both of them were sicillian style thick crust and cooked just perfectly. We both walked out wanting to go again and try all the other options they had.

Nothing like a good rack of ribs.

There are few foods that I think I could eat for the rest of my life--I like my variety, and there are so many cultures with so many cuisines, and different parts of the world with different climates and biomes and foods--but ribs might be one of those things I could eat every day until I am dead.

Which would probably be like age 60 because they're fatty as hell haha.

Drove up to Phillie the last week, walked around and picked up some chicken gyros from a street vendor.

“I sayd GODDAYMN!!!“

IDGAF, kick me some $5 slop from those who immigrated here, know their native foods, and are running their business from a cart on the sidewalk over a domestic five star cuisine any day of the ****ing week. Ok maybe not five star, but damn these guys make tasty shit. I make it a point to drive to Philadelphia at least once a month JUST for this place. I buy like five gyros and two dinner plates at a time when I do so as gas and tolls are expensive, not to mention traffic. I’d head up there tomorrow if I wasn’t trying to save some bank for a new PC.

Pizza loaf. Make a meatloaf, then drain off the grease, top with sauce and cheese and bake to golden brown. Served on a bed of homemade mashed potatoes.. delicious! =)

Well, it's not THE best, but I did got a new taco place and had some pretty good chicken nachos, an amazing margarita called Rosa Rita that had a cube of frozen cranberry and orange juice in the center and churro donuts with agave syrup that was simply out of this world!
