what was your first mp3 player, and do you still have/use it?

So I was out walking today listening to my ipod, and realized that my very first mp3 is still useful today. I had sort of a moment realizing that this particular gadget had been in use for years and years now, and shows no sign of becoming obsolete despite the fact that Apple is known planning their devices to become so.

Anyways I was wondering what was other people's first mp3 player, and whether or not they still have it. If so do you use it?

Mine is an Ipod nano third gen. I still use it for walking, and it has more or less replaced my car's CD player.

Ipod Nano 4th Gen, still have it and since I kept it in a rubber casing it looks brand new.

Paid $70 for it and sold it to a friend for $50 like 6 months later 

Its still lingering around but I don't use it. It was some ancient RCA model with less than 128 MB of space...

I still have it and it still works, but have long since lost the computer dock thingy that lets me change songs and such.

havent gotten around to buying a dock. yet. just recently found the ipod shuffle while going through of some of my old junk.

thinking about getting a dock soon, so i can start using it again.

same here, in theory I could use my phone while walking, but it's giant in my pocket in comparison to the nano. Also the nano blows away smart phones in terms of battery.

I still have it but don't use it anymore.

A Sony Walkman 256MB, I loved it. I gave it away to a friend of mine.

Forgot what brand it was and I can't find a picture of it. I bought it back in 2006 for $40 or so.

It was a white 1GB MP3 Player that looked like a flash drive.

1st gen iPod shuffle (1GB).

Shit was cash, but I lost it after a couple of months. Think it fell out of a coat pocket.


Don't buy dedicated MP3 players anymore, just buy large mSD cards for my phones.

It was 512mb, so I don't have much use for it.

I'm actually on the market for something decent, no BS - just music. Any recommendations? (Need SD card slot, preferably flac support)

Creative Zen 8gb and I still use it. My only complaint is its only 8gb. Have had it about 4 years now at least.

256mb creative. still have it but the LCD is broken.

My first one was the original ipod. The very first model they ever released. It does still work, but not if I remove it from a constant power source.

I don't think i've ever had an mp3 player.

I have a cheap little portable radio thing with headphones (I think they came with a pair of Sketchers).

It was this little MP3 player I bought off eBay in 2005. Everyone elses in school had a 512mb memory whereas I had a massive 1gb! Everyone was jealous :twisted:
