Did enjoy Arrow but the second series kind of goes down hill for me. Not watched the third yet. Favourite things I've watched recently are:

The 100

Revolution

Cockroaches

Under The Dome

Extant

A Town Called Eureka

Bear Grylls - The Island

Merlin (if you can cope with terrible, low budget, special effects)

Read the manga if you. The anime and the movies doesn't do enough justice to this epic manga.

Berserk is the love child of The Witcher and the Dark Souls so definitely give that a try, specially the manga. TV shows are too obvious.

Also, try out Shigatsu wa kimi no uso. Just try to not go into depression.

If you looking for good anime I would recommend watching Code Geass, the main character is a great advocate for anti heroes.

The Flash is very good but also very cheesy, I would recommend it though as the crossovers with Arrow are an interesting concept

Been watching Fate/Zero on netflix and it's an extremely well rounded anime. Great mix of epic action and interesting philosophy on such topics as what makes a king truly noble. I'd say its lacking in character development, but I have yet to finish it so that may change. First episode contains some arguably boring exposition, but after that it really picks up. Another big issue with the show is some vague moments in the plot and background information, and considering it is an adaptation to a visual novel, it probably doesn't explain everything as well as the source. But still a fun watch. 7/10 so far imo.

These are all good options (Crossed out Buffy because I just can't bring myself to watch it, so I can't comment).

If we're talking about very unique shows like Twin Peaks, I'll toss Pushing Daisies and Dead Like Me into the ring. They're not everyone's cup of tea, but they're definitely worth looking into.

For what it's worth, I basically felt the same way about Buffy (thought it looked/sounded stupid), then friend convinced me to watch it and it was great (can be weird at times but mostly great). Give it a try, it's definitely not for everyone but it's worth a try.

Yeah, it's been on my list for forever. It's just that when it's time to pick something new to watch, something always looks better :P

I'll give it a shot eventually.

You have to fight that feeling that something else is better and just watch it. :P

I'd say a good way to get into anime would be with Ghost in the Shell (the two movies) and the Stand Alone Complex television series.

They are well made, contain a lot of good themes and aren't way out there in terms of mind-fucks (like Neon Genesis Evangelion might be).

Another good candidate is Cowboy Bebop.

@ProtossX: Flash, Arrow, Smallville, Agents of Shield, Daredevil, are all good choices seeing your shows you posted. I would watch all of them
