What's your Internet connection speed ?

As we're in the Digital Era it matters having a good internet connection to be able to download like 50GB of data , now i'm curious what's your download speed and how you manage to download such a huge amount of data ...?

I'm downloading with 200KB/sec FTW and yeah it sucks .....Third-world limitations and stuff....i usually buy the data i need directly from some suppliers.

100mbps connection; on torrents I normally get about 5MB, but on dedicated downloads (directly from websites) normally 20/30MB on the lowest.

10 Mbps

I'm on my laptop, to my right there is a PC which main purpose on life is to procure stuff. It has a 3TB and 4TB external drives for storage.

around 1.5 mbps in theory.....

in practice i'm trying to download from Battle.net right now and fluctuating at around 200 kbps.

Those numbers are remarkable ....

Yep, it's quite amazing...back in Portugal I had a 1mbps connection for years...when I changed to 10mbps I felt like the king of the world...I moved here and all of a sudden it was 100mbps...blew my mind.

3 mbps.. not so good, but will get by.

Yeah I got this pal of mine whose aunt lives in Holland, a little while ago she flies back to good ol' Iran for a little vacation, her nephew, my pal, offers her a phone application by which she can share photos and videos with her colleagues at work, the aunt then is like: "The fuq you talking about son? I can do that with the internet."

@elkoldo: Haha, people here are really tech savvy, even elderly. I teach Portuguese to this 85yo lady and I asked her for something and she replies "I'll wetransfer it to you and let you know in whatsapp". It was funny.

2MB. Unlimited usage. Plan to upgrade it to 4 or 8, in a year or two. My friend lives near Army HQ and he uses 32 MB for free. Lucky bastard.

No idea, at the very least it seems fair and a pretty reasonable speed to me.

@korvus: LOL that's a gift. Elderly here avoid this modern stuff as if it's a disease. I'm desperate to get my mom to work with a smartphone.

@elkoldo: www.wetransfer.com is a free transfer service where you can send stuff up to 2gb. And yeah, my mother can't even check her messages on her phone even though she's owned one for over 10 years and I've tried to explain it to her countless times.

Canada, though the speeds in my part of it are exceptionally bad. I still had dial-up in 2006 when I got my PS3.

It takes about 4 overnight sessions to download World of Warcraft onto one of my computers and a couple minutes to download a song off of ITunes.

It's not great... but our government is finally upgrading it so hopefully in a couple of years it'll be much better.

About 25-30mbps Download, 3-6mbps Upload.

Recently upgraded to 40mbps download and 10mbps upload.

Mine's pretty decent. Upload leaves something to be desired though

Comcast 2gb fiber is coming to my city, I'll get if it's available at my house and the price isn't too steep.

my home 50mbps, at girlfriends about 2mbps, in UK any internet that isnt Virgin Media sucks

Good enough to me. GTA V PC took 2 hours 57 minutes from the start of Steam download to playing Prologue.

Download speeds ranged from 6.0 Megabytes/sec (not Megabits) to 6.6 Megabytes/sec.

What you're experiencing is almost like mine , hope you get a better service , think i'm stuck with this shit for years to come.

It'll take 30days to download GTA V for me :|

Do you have data caps ? Meaning that you can't pass some certain amount of download daily or monthly.

Ouch. The Steam version of GTA V is 59.1 GB. If I was in your place, I'd buy the retail version and download the 5 GB patch instead.

512 kbps. Yeah I know it sucks hard but FTP servers FTW(downloaded gta 5 in 2 hours). just had to copy the files in steam folder.

I'm surprised to see such big differences between download and upload...my connection is 100mbps on both DL and UL. I thought having the same speed both ways would be the norm?

Nah, I'm kidding. I don't really torrent that much. I have yet to get into a situation where my upload speed holds me back. Or maybe there is, but I simply don't notice it.

We have such servers here , but they're so useless ....some ordinary stuff they upload which are of no use to me ...
