Beer, mixed drink, liquor, wine, etc.

I have a few beers that will always rate on top: Guinness, Victory Hop Devil, Troegg's American Pale Ale, Arrogant Bastard.

Fave mixed drink is Jack and Coke.

I'd say:

  • Beer: Any high quality Imperial Stout or Milk Stout
  • Liquor: Scotch
  • Mixed Drink: Whiskey and Cola
  • Wine: N/A (Never found one I like, unless we're talking about cooking with it.)

Jeez, old man. What DO you do for fun? lol (just kidding)

I should add that I don't drink often and not a lot when I do. Probably maybe only a few times a month.

Boulevard american wheat or Boulevard pale ale on tap/draft/draught.

Also Dr. Pepper. I'm young enough that I prefer that occasionally or because I'm poor and can't afford to go out to eat. Now that I'm home for the summer it expect to have a lot more of the former whenever possible.

You know, I saw a commercial for Jack Daniels Honey whiskey. I'm thinking of picking up a bottle. Anyone try it yet?

@jasean79: Man...JD Honey Whiskey is very sweet. That's the only thing I want to warn you about. I couldn't stomach a lot of it. Definitely cut it with some water or something unless you like something syrupy sweet.

@Assassin_87: Good to know, thanks. That's what a lot of the reviews said online too.

Have you ever tried Gentleman Jack?

I like JD Black label, but I'm looking to try something different. GJ is a bit more pricey, but might be worth it.

@jasean79: Gentleman Jack is the best mix of quality/consistency as far as JD whiskey goes. It is very smooth.

The Single Barrel stuff is good as well but from bottle to bottle varies hugely in color, smell, and flavor because it's small batch. You never really know what you're getting.

GJ comes highly recommended as far as I'm concerned.

Used to be black spiced rum and Rickard's Red Ale, but a few months ago I started getting irregular heartbeat and cold sweat at night from even the smallest amount of alcohol(one regular beer), so I just quit, it sucks not being to have a drink anymore, especially with summer approaching, but I guess it'll save me money..

I like my liquor. I always have a bottle of on hand of at least some form of Scotch, Vodka, Gin, and Rum. At the moment, my favorite is a tossup between gin and vodka. As for beer I really like ales, IPA mainly. I tend to get Chain Breaker IPA, Prohibition Ale (my fav brew :D ), Red Chair NWPA. And to switch things up, I grab for some extra stout Guinness. I absolutely love that stuff. I hear a beer a day keeps the doctor away. That's how it goes right? ;)

It depends. When I eat seafood like shrimp or sushi I usually drink Sapporo beer. Other times me and my friends drink some Don Julio or Baluarte Blanco tequila.

@Assassin_87: So my wife surprised me last night with a bottle of the JD Honey whiskey. I have to say, it's not too bad. It is sweeter than the No. 7, but still drinkable.

Haha, awesome. I wish my wife would surprise me with some whiskey every now and then.

But yeah man, not bad stuff. Like I said, I just have to cut it with some water or something. First time I tried it was at a bar in New Orleans a few years ago, and I almost lost my lunch because it was a shot, so it went down quickly, and didn't really expect it to be that sweet.

If only drinking a couple, not wanting to get drunk. It's either beer... preferably a wheat beer one like a weissbier... Or Witbier. Belgium has a really good one imo. If only drinking a little then Baileys is what I prefer. Usually if my GF and I are somewhere trying to enjoy ourselves.

For party it is clean vodka. Preferably with a bison grass straw in it.

Very sweet and rich. Great with desserts or, if you're like me, straight out of the bottle and mixed with the fabric of a t-shirt.

@evildead6789:

Apparently you have never tried good American beer. Try not to base an opinion based on the Macro beers. Because if we did that, we could say most beer sucks regardless of where it comes from.

For instance, Leffe Blonde is way too sweet, way too carbonated, body is too thin and the finish is too dry.

I can't believe you would put Leffe in the same list as Duvel or Delirium. For it's a mass produced product made by Anheuser Busch - InBev

And Stella is just skunky Belgian Budweiser.

The experts would disagree with you there. There are some outstanding beers coming out of the US.

that's not really true , industrially made beer doesn't have the same quality as the abbey beers , where they're orignally from. They take a lot more time to produce.

The best beer in the world is still a belgium beer nl west-vleteren, which i don't like to drink

All the beers i listed are from belgium and I'm from belgium

Try them and you will say I'm right

Umm as I said above. Leffe is an InBev macro and a poor representation of Belgian beer. Same goes for that skunky ass Stella. Basically just international Budweiser products.

And some of the finest American beer companies are Bells, Dogfish Head and Stone. Even Sam Adams has some very good beers in limited production.

The absolute best beer you can seek out though comes on tap at your local Brewpub in it's freshest form. My favorite is from two very small local Detroit area breweries called Dragonmead and Kuhnhenns.
