So I like to game it prob is my favourite form of entertainment, if I'm home nothing to do I would rather game than do anything else, i mainly play Rpg's, openworld, stealth em ups, games that suck you in and are reluctant to spit you out, I like films, music, tv shows, been meaning to get into some reading other than reading stuff on internet, but yeh gaming is my thing.

Are there any other forms entertainment that falls into this category?

I kinda revolve between movies, books and music depending upon various factors. For the past 5 years or so though I've been hitting the movies pretty hard and spend most of my time wandering through various categories and directors.

TV/Mini-Series have had my interest as of late, though film is a very close second.

I used to play sports growing up but I mostly meant watching them. Love playing golf though. Why wouldn't coasters be entertainment?

@Braun_Roid_Rage: I know roller coasters are entertainment, but are they an entertainment medium? I mean I always thought it meant something you watch or read listen to that involves a story, something that captivates an audience kinda thing, But I'm not sure.

Definitely books. I read about 3 hours a day and wake up in a bad mood if I was too tired to read the night before. Sadly I've ran out of room for books and I can't get myself to give them away after read so I had to buy one of those horrible e-readers...practicality and storage space doesn't make for the lack of a physical book.

@Korvus85: what's it like reading from an E book, is it it better worst? Do u still get as involved in the story?

Avatar image for korvus

@ariabed: I'm assuming you mean reading e-books in an e-reader, because reading e-books at the computer is absolutely terrible; your back hurts, your neck hurts and it's so utterly dull.

With an e-reader you miss the texture and smell of the book ,the turning the pages instead of taping the screen, but it's great for travelling; sitting on a waiting room, waiting for the bus, on an airplane you have your whole library with you, which is especially handy if you're like me and on your free time you read a book a day (taking 20 books when you're out for 2 weeks sucks) or like my wife who reads several books at the same time and alternates between them at any given time.

As far as the story involvement goes, it's pretty much the same when you're used to it (maybe more convenient if you need to go back and refresh your memory, with the chapter links at the beginning of the book and you can actually attach notes to parts of the book, which I'd never do on an actual book (and you also have the previous books of a series right there with you at all times)

Oh, also...an e-reader hurts more than a book if you fall asleep while reading and let it fall on your teeth =P

Music, anime and games. I used to watch tv/films a lot but they mostly bore me now, most of it is just the work of a bunch of over payed chimpanzees, with some exceptions. - Not that games are all made or written by the proud dwarves of middle earth but at least I can usually still have fun. I've never been huge on books but I read them from time to time, there are some I absolutely love.

And I spend a huge chunk of my time on the internet.

@SNIPER4321: what's it like gaming on a PC are the games that much better than consoles, I mean I know the graphics are better and frame rates, you have the whole mod thing going on, surely the gameplay is the same except having to use a keyboard.

@SNIPER4321: @SNIPER4321: games are like movies, and you're the lead role lol much more involving than a film. I still like a good film though especially horrors.

Gaming is my oldest hobby since i've been gaming since i was just 3yr old.

Couple of years ago i picked up Audiophile hobby and that lead to movies. A good Surround Sound movie or series is really hard to beat. It's just so awesome to experience raining forexample, in your own livingroom.

To be honest, i've had alot of trouble with gaming in recent years, since all AAA games are dumbed down. I have mostly just played Indies since they deliver what game developers should deliver. GAMES, not Interactive Movies.

@quakke: not all games play like movies take dark souls for instance, just have to do a bit of research b4 you buy.

@ariabed:

Before you buy? You think i've been wasting my money on those games? Hell no. I've watched gameplay and tried some games at me friends.

Dark Souls. Yeah, i hear alot of good about it, and don't doubt it's good. Dark Souls just happens to be RPG, and i just personally never liked RPG genre.
