What's the best place for game storage?

I have been looking for ways to store my games but still have access to them. I would think of something like a filing cabinet since they hold more than a shelf / bookcase but am looking for other ways also. Prefer to not use bins since its a pain in the ass to access them. I have like a thousand or so.

One of those $10 plastic bins you find at BigLots, or a book shelf.

I use DIY mulit-layered shelves for a lot of my games and other stuff.

They're a good option of you're willing to take the time to put them together.
