Use it for guides. Used it just last week for Last Blade 2, old ass game where info is light.

Like the simple text nature of it as well, no frills.

Never bother with the forum.

I don't think I've ever sat down and browsed it. It's come up in a fair few searches, so there must be some good information there.

I see Gamefaqs as an online strategy guide.

Do people even use GameFaqs these days? There are tons of websites, including YouTube, offering guidesn and tips and tricks these days

@omegamaster: Yes the GameFAQs community is thriving and I'd say it's more thriving than this place. Course, Reddit rules all now.

@lowkey254: It's still connected to Gamespot in a sense that it's all under the parent company Red Ventures. And the gamefaqs url is now gamefaqs.gamespot.com LMAO!

I used to use the site all the time years ago. The user guides are great and you can see alot of work is put into them, but I don't really go there anymore. Games now are so straight forward I don't need a guide, and if I do, it's always "where is this BS hidden trinket item on the map?" And YouTube is quicker and easier for that.

My issue with YouTube is it can easily reveal spoilers.

FYI, Veggeta is known for trolling on Gamefaqs and he's a guy who's gimmick is complaining about the mods whenever he breaks an obvious rule. I guess he got bored so he's doing it on other sites now and linking people here.

Hopefully there won't be any board invasions here since he has few real followers, but just a heads-up :)

I find writing tends to be denser and clearer than Youtube.

And generally just like the simplicity of the presentation.

It's great to have on the Kindle nearby, esp stuff like fighting games.

I have used it in the past to make a few posts needing help, but haven't really spent much time on there otherwise. The layout is simple, but unappealing to me.
