I have Verizon FiOs ( a fiber optic connection ) I have the mid-tier version, with 15Mbps Download / 2 Mbps Upload. It's only $40 bucks a month, I am considering upgrading it to the 30Mbps version soon, but so far I am happy.

At my current speed i can usually download an entire DVD's content (4.7GB) in about 25 minutes.

Good by today's standards? Probably anything exceeding 10MB.

That's the speed of your wireless connection to your router, not the speed you're connected to the internet.

I currently have 10Mbps. In June I'll be going upto 100Mbps8) (http://www.videotron.com/services/static/en/pdf/com_test_service_Internet_22dec06.pdf) It sounds like its going to be pretty good, and apparently I have the only ISP that is currently able to do that in Canada, since no other ISP can offer that kind of service for the same price:D
