What is this buzzing box on my wall?

Above my thermostat that controls the AC/heat, there is this small box that won't stop buzzing above it. Any guesses why? how to fix?!

Do you rent? If so call your landlord/supervisor right away. If not, call an electrician.

Take a picture if you need help because that dsecription isn't helping us help you. Also if you want to fix it fast just grab a hammer and wack it.

There are probably very few qualified electricians on the forums, and those few would probably demand payment for their services.

As acompletely untrained amateur, however, I strongly advise you strike it soundly with the palm of your hand until said noise stops.
