For example in the field of fundamental physics, which I study, there are more questions than answers.

2. What caused the big bang?

4. Why is gravity so weak compared to the other forces?

5. What is dark energy and how is it related to cosmic inflation?

6. Are there any extra dimensions which we haven't discovered yet as predicted by string theory and other theories of mathematical physics?

7. How can Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity be successfully combined with quantum mechanics?
