For the same reason anyone bows to deities for whom they have no external evidence of (ie, faith)? You misinterpreted what I said, what I meant was if your a leader of a people why would you yourself bow down to an idol or false god. The God of the Bible is real.

You misinterpreted what I said, what I meant was if your a leader of a people why would you yourself bow down to an idol or false god. The God of the Bible is real. No, I think you misunderstand what I'm saying, as your response doesn't change mine in any way. The only real evidence you have that your God is real is your faith in Him, just as people in other cultures and times had faith in their gods. From a purely psychological standpoint, it's no more surprising that someone in ancient Rome would believe in and make offerings to Jupiter than for someone in a modern Western democracy to believe in God and be guided by Biblical principles. Your flat assertion that your God is real makes me suspect that you will be unable or unwilling to acknowledge my point, however. That's sort of fine, I guess, since it is a matter of your faith.
