Very low-power devices (though more functional than anything we have today) with most every home using solar cells, lots of natural interior lighting, products designed to produce the minimal amount of consumer waste, communal transportation, vertical and roof-top farms, etc.
Basically, making do with less. I think those people will look back in disdain at us greedy fvckers at the turn of the millinium and say "what asshats."
It'll be boring because I wouldn't be there.

but we also have become much more violent.bnarmzI don't think that's true, is it? Back in the Medieval ages there were civil wars, genocides and religeous conflicts up the wazoo. Nowadays we have more destructive force sure, but we have built quite some structure in our society. We have entire continents cooperating together in the economy, war (peace) efforts, laws, safety, etc. Small scale we have social safety nets for the poor and homeless, drug treatments, healthcare, medicine, psychological help, more purpose and freedom for growth in life.. It can go either way I think. Escalating violence due to religeous, racial and economic unstability, or eventual domination of the entire planet by huge coalitions. I'm hoping for the latter.
