I just bought a new joystick to play Star Wars Squadrons and my old one (about 15 years old) works fine but doesn't have enough buttons. So now I have an extra one.

Same thing with a lot of electronic devices. I have a Dell laptop I used in grad school over 10 years ago I never use anymore, several Samsung Tablets I don't use since I got my Surface and have tons of really old gaming and PC stuff, like gaming peripherals that don't use USB, those blue monitor cables, etc. Also my LG G4 and original Galaxy cellphone, and a generic original Xbox controller.

Basically I'm hoarding this stuff I never use and feel guilty just putting it in the trash especially since a lot of it works, but I just have newer and better stuff. r

I was also thinking of upgrading or buying a new PC and if I did that what do I do with my GTX 1070 or other components that work fine? Is it worth trying to sell or do you donate your old stuff?

I normally just keep them for legacy collection purposes.

still have old consoles, once in a while i break them out to play even though stuff is available to dl on virtual consoles / emulation.

old phones / computers other equipment i usually take to electronics recycling in my town but remove the hard drives first.

hard drives sometimes i take apart because i like trying to get the platters out.

I try to keep as much as possible in terms of video game related items. For old phones/electronics, I'll generally try to keep them if they're still in working order. It's good to always have a backup.

On that note, I like to keep boxes as well. Sure, space can become an issue. But it's a novelty owning something in its entirety in that sense.

@Maxpowers_32: keep the second stick. Might be weird since it is (assuming) right handed, but if you play other flight sims you can get a HOSAS (hands on stick and stick, as opposed to HOTAS which is throttle and stick) setup.

It can be fun because you control direction with the right stick, and strafe and throttle with the left.

Otherwise...sell it on Craigslist?

Older consoles are collected. Antiquated electronics though? Harvest the precious metals from inside.

My son is the one that uses my old laptop and cellphone. It is still useful since he just plays a Roblox game the IceBreaker from Ludagames and that game has a 100k Robux giveaway too!!

Put them in a box tote and look at them later when I get nostalgic.

I gave away my PS4 and Xbox One X to my brother and my base XB1 to the son of a friend of my father.
