OH EM GEE, you're in for a treat! Breat Easton Ellis is one of my favorite authors and American Psycho is just... pure gold. Enjoy!

Yeah I'm enjoying it alot. I'm about halfway through it and I really like the pitch black humor (especially the parts where Patrick Bateman throws some sidecomments how he would love to mutilate the people that he doesn't like at the moment, also how he gets really depressed when some people show more superior taste than his) and the obsessive way that everything is described in the slightest detail. I believe it was chapter 2 that consisted mostly of brand names that Bateman uses during his morning rituals and what they do, by then I knew that I'm gonna love the rest of it. I was also "pleasantly" surprised when I found that the murders are told in much more gruesome detail than they were in the movie (for example, the hobo in the alleyway who just gets stabbed in the film).

Oh yes! I'm so glad you're enjoying it! It really portrays Bateman in a much more detailed way than in the movie showing his flaws as well making him much more human, which in itself is just hilarious. It's just... gah, I love this book! 8D
Have you read anything else by Ellis? I strongly reccommend Glamorama and Lunar Park, in that order.
