What are the most memorable tv show openings?

The opening of tv shows are kind of like TV adverts in which they deliberately try to use images and sounds (particularly theme tunes) that stick in your mind, since you will be watching it over and over.

What are the most memorable for you? The show doesn't need to be good, we are specifically talking about the intro.

e.g. this show was shit, but had an awesome opening

For me it would probably be Quantum Leap, aside from being one of the best sci-fi shows made, it had an excellent intro with sexy concerned lady.

I am not going to embed so to avoid cluttering the topic. Here's my top 5 in no particular order:

The Returned

Rick and Morty (unfortunately can't find a good clip of this one. Instead I treat you to a great moment from the show)

I never actually watch the series but it is a good song plus I always joke around with my brother imitating the short enter-start facing the camera-smile while their credits come up. Oh you bet I do.

Few intros have set the atmosphere of a series so well as this one.

At first you are like, what the ****? Slowly but surely it grows on you.

Earth is in trouble, Zordon can have any type of fighter he wants. What does he request? "Teenagers with attitude". Seems legit.

The original is pretty good too.

Never actually saw the series (beyond my time) but one time came across of it and thought the song was excellent.

Great guitar plus that thing where the good guys and the bad guys run into battle pumps you so much.

In Spanish, the awesomeness can't be described.

Another one in Spanish, Freakazoid is like the Seinfeld absurdity equivalent in cartoons.

Wished you could understand the lyrics, don't know if they are exactly the same in Japanese/English.

Notice how the intros grew darker as the series went along. Plus the original good/bad guys run toward battle!

I think opening intros are kind of a lost art in modern television, but I understand that the reason they have gone away is because they take up too much airtime.

The best ones are usually openings that have a catchy tune, and explain briefly what the overall plot of the show is. I think Home Improvement kind of did that.

Law And Order is a good one. Very instantly recognizable theme. Whoever made the opening of that show done a great job.

Hill street blues as well actually. Before my time but we get re-runs. Super memorable theme. The music definably a huge part of a good intro.

Fresh Prince is unbeatable in my opinion. Pretty much all I can think of have been posted. Though not as popular as other intros here, I really like the intro to The Wire. The editing and sequencing gives such a clean run-down of the show's themes and concepts, and without directly referencing what happens in the show. Lots of symbolism, double-meanings, and it captures an ultra-nihilistic image of bleak city living. It also gives a very good "feel" on how rich the content is with social commentary and strong relatable themes. (I suppose someone already posted the Season 1, but I love the fact that there's a different intro for all seasons so I posted the compilation).

These three set the tone just right.
