What are the most memorable music videos of all time for you?

Music videos have been around for a long time what are some of the ones that you remember the most? it doesn't have to be your favorites just memorable here's some of mine.

BJork Human Behavior I remember seeing this at my Grandpa's house in the early 90's for the first time I never seen anything like this my family didn't have cable at the time.

God you guys are posting the hard questions lately. Would I hit a woman who hit me? Who's the greatest African-American singer? What are the most memorable music videos of all time for me?

I feel like I'd need to sit and think about it for a long time honestly. Good questions, but tough ones.

I was born in 88, and I remember seeing music videos on TV since I could crawl. My family had on VH1 and MTV a lot then, so I was exposed to basically the best years for the medium from the mid-80's to the late 90's.

Of course music videos are still made to this day. Some probably much more unique than a lot of the earlier ones in the 70's to 90's.

I think one of the very first music videos that I watched as a baby that stuck with me was "When Doves Cry". The mirror tricks just blew my mind.

The first music video that I saw as a kid that grabbed my attention and led to me becoming a lifelong fan of a music group is "Paranoid Android". I grew up a big fan of animation, and was amused and confused by this weird art style and teenage/adult subject matter that the Robin cartoon dealt with. I also started watching it on Cartoon Sushi. But my mind always went back to this lengthy song spanning different emotions that went along to the music video.

Sometime after the "Karma Police" video came out and I realized I really liked this group. But it was at least another 5 years before I realized I had musical tastes and became an actual fan of music.

Honestly it might be this fan made video for Lose Yourself to Dance by Daft Punk.

It's mesmerising!

Now for dark techno... I remember seeing this and being momentarily distracted at 16 years old.

Also Come to Daddy and Monkey Drummer.

Don't watch this...

Hate to admit this but Nickelback comes to mind.

I can't post the official video because there are nekkid people in it.

The official video is embedded in there. But, I thought she was a hottie at the time.

I think this is probably my favourite Bond music video, though not theme (OHMSS). Although I do like it, it gets an unnecessarily bad wrap. If you wanna hear bad, listen to Madonna's monstrosity.

That might actually be the first music video I remember seeing.

As for mine, I always thought that Smack My Bitch Up by Prodigy was memorable; not just a crazy video, but the ending! THE ENDING!

Yep, I remember that video I also remember MTV was afraid to play in the day and only aired it at night then banned it not that long after.

For a long time, I thought it was Rush who was singing this. ;)

Then when I finally saw the video, it dawned on me that it wasn't Rush. Ooops.

@jackamomo: There's a sitcom called "You're the Worst" where basically two relatively misanthropic people (a British guy author and an American girl talent agent) get together based on their mutual dislike for the rest of humanity. At one point in a later season, they get sent baby photos from a mutual friend who just had a baby. Looking at the photos on their phones, they go back and forth making comments about how incredibly ugly the baby is. One of Jimmy's comments was "Oh my god! It looks like it should be screaming at an old woman in an Aphex Twin video!" which I laughed my ass off at. BEST JOKE EVER, although I had to explain it to my wife and then show her the video for "Come to Daddy".

As for me, I'm ashamed of our community that nobody has already thrown up the following entries:

Actually there are a lot of Peter Gabriel/Genesis videos that were really impressive and imaginative.

Wait, Christopher Walken got his start in song and dance instead of just by being the creepiest mofo on screen??!?!?

But honestly there are so many. Pretty much everything by Tool could be on this list. Primus as well. I grew up in the era of music videos.

It's hard to beat MJ when it comes to iconic, cultural impact of music videos.

I would wake up each morning and wait for the VH1 Top 20 countdown to play The Killers "Somebody Told Me".

Every dorm I ever lived in always had the TVs on either MTV or VH1. So, there's plenty of music videos I remember well up to now.

One of the more "recent" ones is this one. Not really MTV or VH1. But, it still is memorable to me because I like to juggle a soccer ball.

The Temper Trap - Fader

Duran Duran's wild boys was a mini movie epic which stuck in my mind, otherwise simple quirky videos like early Madness....Our House, My Girl.

Also...... No self-respecting headbanger would forget when NIN exploded into TV screens with Wish.

For some reason I thought this was about the most memorable music videos to us, personally. It's what I get for smartphoning it up sometimes.

Thriller, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Opposites Attract, Sledgehammer, Sober, Take on Me, Three Little Pigs, Black Hole Sun... All pretty memorable.

I just feel like we could be here for months trying to remember all of the big ones.

Buddy Holly by Weezer should be in there somewhere.

I remember a lot of Stone Temple Pilots music videos (eg Wicked Garden) getting air time.

I remember when the original of this Flash video came out in YT over a decade ago. Didn't know what legal issues, if any. But, I liked it.
