Just looking for some recommendations, but some of mine include American Beauty, Psycho (1960), V for Vendetta, In the Bedroom, Reservation Road, Revolutionary Road, The Godfather, City of God, Fargo, No Country For Old Men, and Goodfellas.

Also, what's your favorite genre? I like dramas, and my favorite writers/directors would be the Coen Brothers, not only cause they make good movies, but because they're from the great state of Minnesota!

I just didn't understand it... Didn't it just have about as much entertainment value as watching home movies from some kid carrying around a camera for a day and showing what he typically does? It's like, I already have those days everyday, and I don't need a camera for it.

It just didn't seem to have any point whatsoever, or any significant plot, or any likeable characters at all.

I think Eraserhead is a magnificent achievement, however I can't really stomach or enjoy the film. I also still have El Topo wasteing away in my un used Jodorowsky boxset. I just got that Wayne/Ford giftset in today now too so unfortuantly Im going to have to push it off even more so I can dive back into The Searchers and checkout Stagecoach finally.

The movies that I believe are to be of a high standard and my favorites are drastically different. While movies like Taxi Driver, Dr.Strangelove, Schindler's List, Patton, Godfather and Pulp Fiction are on one. Movies (In order of most favorite to 5th favorite) like The Producers(new), Meet the Spartans, Kelly's Heroes, Dragonheart and Stalingrad are on the other.

Peter Jackson's LotR films are good (but the Tolkien purist in me thinks they are an abomination). The original Star Wars trilogy, The Untouchables, and Milk are all movies that I like a lot.

Wow. I don't think anyone said my favorite movie:

Papillon.

Some others would be Forrest Gump, Apocalypse Now, 28 Days Later, of course Star Wars IV-VI, Saving Private Ryan, The Green Mile.

I guess not my favorite but I really like it, The Thing, for horror. Aliens too.

Comedy- There's Something About Mary; Me, Myself, & Irene; Airplane, and maybe Superbad.
